The House of Representatives voted unanimously Monday (10/13/09) to extend the deadline for the $8000 first time home buyer tax credit.  Currently this legislation only applies to Veterans but there is a proposal to extend this tax credit for everyone.

To qualify for the tax credit after November 30, 2009 one must currently be serving overseas or have spent at least 90 days deploys outside of the country during the current calendar year.  It’s expected that about 350,000 military personnel and federal employees may benefit from this new law.

This is a great opportunity and certainly one that should not be missed.  You do not even have to utilize your VA loan for this tax credit.  All loans including FHA and USDA qualify.  For more information or to take advantage of this federal money by purchasing your first home please call or email me today.
